Sr. Product Manager - Technical - Selection

Have you ever wondered what sort of systems and software power the world's largest e-Commerce catalog? At Amazon, literally, the whole world is our customer and this means our catalog is truly global with a goal to know about every product available for sale in the world. What sort of systems do you build to host such a catalog and process millions of updates on the billions of items every single day when you know traditional database technologies just cannot handle the massive scale? How do you ensure that you serve up the freshest possible information to hundreds of millions of Amazon's customers around the world 24x7x365?

As a Senior Product Manager for Amazon's Catalog you will help define and build the roadmap and tools to make managing Amazon's worlwide selection efficient and frcition-free. You will participate in developing the strategy and vision, and develop product roadmaps to execute on that vision. This role is inherently cross-functional; you will work closely with engineering, project management, design, support, vendor management, and executive teams to make selection management world class. We are looking for someone who is highly analytical, resourceful, customer focused, team oriented, and has the ability to work independently under time constraints to meet deadlines. You will also have a consistent track record in taking on end-to-end ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced and dynamic business environment.

In this role you will:
· Develop a deep understanding of Amazon's catalog and its myriad consumers, both existing and potential.
· Own the development of detailed product requirements documents.
· Work cross-functionally with engineering, design, and project management teams to deliver on the product roadmap.
· Drive projects, products, and feature launches with teams both inside and outside of the team.


· 5+ years experience as a product manager, creating software or technology products.
· 2+ years experience as a product manager, creating developer-focused products, such as SDKs, tools, or platforms.
· Experience as a software engineer, designing and developing software, and working with application lifecycle management tools.
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.


· Ability to work in a fast-paced and agile development environment.
· Past success in shaping software products with an eye on ease-of-use.
· Demonstrated ability to dive deep to understand the customer, product, and business.
· Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field, such as computer science or engineering.
· MBA is a plus.
