Key Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

Promote a continuous improvement culture

Support company values including ethical conduct and integrity in all actions

Develop and foster strong internal relationships throughout the organization to identify and resolve manufacturing and quality issues

Analyze customer and regulatory requirements (e.g. engineering data, specifications, test plans, FAR, AS9100, etc.) to ensure manufacturing and testing processes will achieve requirements

Document requirements using structured problem solving tools (e.g. requirements matrix) to support problem resolution

Identify and implement manufacturing process improvements to reduce product defects and/or improve process efficiency

Support equipment upgrades and maintenance requirements

Transition new products from development to serial production

Identify non-conformance causes and implement robust corrective actions

Coordinate several process improvement, cost reduction and/or defect reduction projects. This includes using Lean Manufacturing techniques as well as Process Validation, Root Cause Analysis and Six Sigma Problem Solving skills to address manufacturing and quality issues

Planning, design, and implementation of tooling to support manufacturing processes

Document work instructions for operators and train personnel

Disposition non-conforming material and generate rework/repair work instructions as required

Generate or revise routers and bill of materials

Create equipment/facility maintenance procedures

Provide a smooth interchange of ideas and information between supervisor, engineers, co-workers, and customers

Position Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Chemistry (polymers), Chemical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering

Ability to organize and implement multiple concurrent tasks

Excellent communications skills

Computer skills with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint),

3 years experience in an engineering (or equivalent) role

Experience supporting serial production programs preferred

U.S. Citizenship

Additional Desired Skills

Technical problem solving for processing anomalies or optical defects in acrylic and/or glass laminated assemblies

Material properties and material processing of acrylics or polymers

Experience with micrographic and/or chemical analysis of defects in acrylics (preferred) or polymers

Structured problem solving tools (PFMEA, DOE, 5-why, etc.)

Advanced computer skills: Minitab (preferred), Visual Basic (preferred)

Experience in statistical analysis

Experience in Six Sigma principles

Proficient with product analysis in a model based definition (CATIA V5, UGNX, etc.) engineering environment

Automation of processing equipment

Knowledge of AS9100 and/or FAA requirements

Internal audit training/experience
