Context

The Marketing Procurement Team - Customer Marketing seek to deliver Globally in excess of £40m in value creation annually and beyond through sourcing, negotiation and agency management skills, leveraging the sweet spot between efficiencies and effectiveness of our A&P investment.

The Customer Marketing sub categories are complex with varying stakeholder needs, significant external spend and key relationships at an executive level. The prime accountability for the role is to drive value through ensuring the commercial elements of spend (c. £470m) in these categories are executed brilliantly with our vendors.

Purpose

Focus on understanding and driving key elements of the Customer category transformation, create the insights, tools, measurement and recommendations that can be built into our global strategies.

Drive value creation through competitive sourcing, negotiation and agency performance management where relevant.

Development and delivery of recommendations that shape our future thinking in the Customer Marketing category, deliver clear implications around agency rosters, measurement and buying while working in partnership with key stakeholders and local markets.

Accountabilities

Support the commercial coverage of all sourcing opportunities within the Customer Marketing categories as defined by the GCM’s, ensuring a strong working relationship with all key stakeholders and in-market procurement teams globally.

Define, align and deliver the annual financial plan, including Productivity, with stakeholder and finance alignment; whilst ensuring the highest standard of ethics and compliance is in place.

Build credible, sustainable relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers, establishing Procurement as a long-term business partner.

Qualifications & Experience
Background that includes agency experience or consultancy background would be beneficial.
Understanding of marketing needs and how to drive change; using proven influential skills with an assertive approach.
Inquisitive with the ability to crystallise thinking and make sound recommendations.
Track record of performance delivery/strong project and change management capabilities.
Ability to develop Procurement profile as an authentic business partner in a global business.
Ability to develop external market insight and develop alignment to deliver breakthrough thinking for Diageo.
