Segment Leader – Start Up Business

As a Segment Leader, you will have the exciting opportunity to help drive the growth and shape the future of the Start-Up Segment, owning the end-to-end responsibility for UK at Amazon Web Services.

You will be responsible for creating and owning the UKStart-Up Strategy in alignment with broader Amazon objectives while building and leading a team of Account Managers who are managing the relationships with our most important Start-Up Customers. You will build and lead a team focused on meeting and exceeding pipeline and revenue goals by managing opportunity discovery/pipeline maturation while driving the cross-functional strategic alignment between Sales, Marketing, Business Development, Solutions Architecture, and other key teams within the business – with the intention of creating and executing a comprehensive startup business strategy to inspire, acquire, and grow the startup business in this key market.

RESPONSIBILITIES
· Create and own the UK Start-Up Strategy in alignment with broader Amazon objectives. Be the startup strategy owner for your market.
· Effectively leverage and orchestrate supporting teams, including Business Development, Solution Architects, Specialist Sales, Professional Service and Marketing.
· Build, manage and lead a team of Account Managers.
· Ensure your team meets pipeline generation, revenue quotas and other strategic metrics.
· Hire and develop team members while providing ongoing coaching, motivation, and development to the team
· Guide team members on how to manage key relationships, prospecting techniques, pipeline and territory management.
· Drive campaign and program execution.
· Develop strategic territory plans; set goals and quotas.
· Accelerate customer adoption and customer satisfaction; work strategically with partners to extend reach.
· Collaborate with senior management on key initiatives
· Monitor productivity and support team members of their account and territory development.
· Conduct periodic reviews of business including call activity, lead follow-up, pipeline reviews, prospecting and performance for each individual; analyse wins and losses, etc.
· Provide feedback and suggestions for program improvement on a regular basis,
· Present regular, accurate reports for management for review.
· Work with partners to extend & reach adoption.
· Develop long-term relationships with key customers.
· Ensure customer satisfaction.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience in working with Startup companies, understanding Venture Capital/Private Equity/Funding Sources and associated tenets as well as a natural interest in new / disruptive business models.
· Extensive technology-related sales or business development experience
· Significant relevant sales management experience in technology and/or solution sales, preferably with Startup companies
· Proven experience of leading, motivating, and developing talent
· Creative, self-starter, directing and supporting a team with highly developed interpersonal and leadership skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical skills, accurate and concise
· Cloud services sales leadership experience; insights into driving a consumption based technology (versus product licensing, etc.)
· MBA/University Degree or equivalent experience
