Summary:

You will be joining a team of approximately 20 professional services staff. We are seeking staff who are committed to excellence in student experience, and who are motivated to achieve the team objectives of innovation, professionalism and cross-team, collaborative working. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to contribute to process improvement,build their professional networks and to make a real difference both to students and to the success of this vibrant and ambitious Law School. You will have 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including Maths and English (or equivalent qualifications/experience) and IT skills, including email and Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.

As Student Experience Assistant you will provide high quality front-line customer service to students and staff in the School. You will share responsibility with other team members for being the first point of contact with enquirers in person, by phone and email, dealing with day to day queries, resolving problems and issues, and signposting and/or escalating issues to colleagues as necessary. You will provide administrative support for a wide range of tasks relating to the delivery of an excellent student experience, working proactively as part of a team dedicated to this purpose.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Reporting to the Senior Student Experience Officer, provide front-line student support and excellent customer service to both students and staff.
• Cover the enquiries desk/reception on a rota system with other colleagues, acting as first point of contact in the office both in person and by phone.
• Deal with enquiries professionally and efficiently, referring to colleagues as required and signposting to central support services as appropriate.
• Provide administrative/clerical support across the Student Experience team as

required, including duties such as:
o Support with module choices
o Support with populating the School’s workload allocation system with up to date module and student number information
o Support with attendance monitoring to ensure compliance with UKVI regulations
o Support with timetabling
o Collecting/inputting assessments and marks
o Producing induction packs, study packs and other teaching resources, particularly in support of professional courses
o Maintaining accurate electronic records
o Preparing papers for committees
• Provide assistance to colleagues in and outside the Student Experience team in organising events for current students, including graduation and student socials.
• Provide assistance to colleagues outside the Student Experience team in compiling content for student handbooks, and for regular communications with current students (e.g. blog and enewsletter).
• Provide clerical support as required both within the Student Experience team, and across the wider Professional Services team.
• Work as part of the Student Experience team to engage with process and system improvement and to maximise consistency and efficiency of the School’s administrative procedures across all programmes.
