BONDING TECHNICIAN LEAD - INTERIM

Interim role is subject to conversion to full-time position upon full execution of job duties and responsibilities within a six months period from start date.

Utilizing prior experience can independently perform the following tasks and lead/train other less experience employees to: follow general instructions, drawings, specifications, standard practice and recognized methods to perform operations needed to produce prototype and/or production composite parts, components and assemblies. Works with engineering personnel to develop techniques, tooling and/or methods and procedures to produce new, complex and/or modified composite parts, components, and assemblies. Sets work assignments and supports problem solving for assigned work area.

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED required.

6+ years of work experience in a fast-pace manufacturing environment or applicable industry experience. A two (2) year degree in an industrial or manufacturing field may be considered in lieu of two (2) years of work experience. A certified FAA Airframe & Powerplant license (or equivalent military certification) or a Bachelor’s Degree in a industrial or manufacturing field may be considered in lieu of three (3) years of work experience.

3+ year direct experience performing tasks associated with composite fabrication and/or relevant mechanical assembly required. Must show proficiency in assembly technician skills.

U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site SSA requirements. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be able to obtain a DoD government-granted security clearance. Individuals may also be subject to a background investigation to include but not limited to: criminal history, employment and education verification, drug testing, and creditworthiness.” This clearance must be maintained during employment. Preferred applicants who hold active DoD Secret Security clearance.

Additional Qualifications:

Basic shop math, including addition, subtraction, decimals and fractions.

Basic English reading and writing skills. Must be able to read to follow written and verbal work instructions.

Experience of at least two (2) years leading, training, guiding or coaching less experienced personnel in a production manufacturing environment.

Completion of GKN Pre-Employment Training Program or equivalent required.

Knowledge of production methods, shop practice and working quality of composite assembly/materials or machine operation.

Complete OV training and certification in a minimum of two OV areas. Be able to maintain OV certification.

Ability to engage and motivate others to achieve objectives. Builds a positive environment thru teamwork.

Work from information such as drawings, shop sketches, sample parts, specifications, and engineering

Knowledge of production methods, shop practice and working quality of composite materials and machine operation.

Recognize discrepancies in materials or processes.

Use of measuring instruments, such as tape measures or micrometers.

Perform a wide range of physical activities, some requiring fine manual dexterity.

Mustdemonstrate the ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs on a regular basis.

Must be capable of repetitive bending, twisting, and standing for extended period of time.

Ability to comply with clean room regulations and requirements.
