Linear Infrastructures, Junior Designer

Job Summary
Global Delivery Service (GDS) based in Warsaw is actively seeking creative and highly talented Linear Infrastructures Junior Designers.

Job Duties :

The key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Independently preparing design calculations or reports related to linear infrastructure elements (geometric design, pavement, road equipment design, etc.).
Verifying that applicable codes and engineering standards practices are being met.
Resolving issues or problems concerning with conflicting design requirements, specifications and or difficult coordination requirements.
Performing constructability reviews of designs.
Working as part of a Linear Infrastructures team with other designers at the same functional level.
Interacts sporadically with internal client.
Identifying discrepancies, incoherencies and format errors in results.
Proposing new options to afford new technical problems.
Assisting with technical proposals to provide services
Receiving instruction on specific assignments, objectives, complex features and possible solutions.
Assignments have clear and specific objectives and require the investigation of a limited number of variables.
Independently evaluating, selecting and applying standard engineering techniques, procedures and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications.
Assigning tasks to and directs engineers, technicians, and administrative staff.
Supervising calculations by less experienced staff.
Training less experienced staff.
Comply with statutory, project and AECOM-specific health and safety requirements.
Based from Warsaw, the availability to travel could be required to go to other GDC offices and international clients’ offices

Specific Skills :
Working knowledge on at least one of the following sub-disciplines: geometric design (roads and rail alignment); pavement design; road equipment design (barriers, road signs, line marking, etc.); etc.
Experience working with international regulations and standards.
Proficient in various software packages for geometric design of new linear infrastructures such as: GEOPAK, INROADS, OPENROADS, CIVIL 3D, etc.
Working knowledge of BIM platforms for linear infrastructure projects will be considered favorably.
Diversified knowledge of technology, materials, equipment, design concepts, and construction techniques.
Proven commitment with Quality Control Policy and Quality Management System.
Fluent in English and Polish (oral and written)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Minimum Requirements
Min. 4 years of experience in transportation projects; preferably roads and highways.
Experience working in the North America region will be considered favorably
US Professional Engineer license will be considered favorably
Working knowledge and understanding of the external environment that influences success

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor or Master degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised University
