Planning Data Manager

The Taste:
The purpose of this role is to architect, manage and govern the data and information design within Financial Controlling data domain. The role of Planning Data Manager is to own the data and information architecture and design for allocated data domain; to control the data design through governance on change projects and Business as Usual forum. The role is accountable for ensuring the data and information design is fully documented, e.g. data dictionary and process documentation.
The role will specifically support Diageo’s Planning Agenda and all data sets that are enabler for successful planning and forecasting.

• Defines What/How/When data is acquired
• Aligns and tracks roadmap progress against target
• Roadmap interventions identified and case for change
• Defines data ownership & relevant controls
• Defines data policies & procedures
• Owns Governance knowledge base
• Ensures adherence to Diageo’s Data and IS strategy
• Creates and maintains metric/calculation definition entries in IRMs
• Owns data dictionary/definitions
• Quality assurance and review on data deliverables
• Develop data maintenance process & policies
• Identify & support implementation of technology – continuous improvement
• Implements changes to policies and standards
• Design and conduct trainings on data maintenance

How to Serve:
• University or College Degree preferably with minimum of 5-7 years IS experience either within a consumer goods company (or equivalent in consultancy)
• Expert in data modelling techniques using accepted methods
• Fluency in Business English
• Deep understanding of data management disciplines and their business benefits (e.g. DMBOK)
• Data design experience working within a global function, including at least one major project as lead data designer
• Experience of major change projects, preferably with project management experience within the SAP global rollout campaign.
• Able to provide strong, visible leadership for data governance to geographically diverse virtual teams
• Able to build relationships with senior business management to advance the global data agenda – need strong communication and influencing skills
• Structured attitude to change
