Central Demand Forecasting Analyst

The Taste:

The role holder owns the delivery of baseline statistical forecasts for defined markets, the outputs of the role will drive Supply Chain decision making processes in market affecting finished goods inventory and ensure good service through product availability. The Central Demand Analyst is responsible for actively developing/ensuring a high quality demand signal in the end-to-end supply chain.

Ingredients:

Generation of baseline statistical forecast using the demand planning / forecasting system to support the monthly Sales & Operations Planning process according to defined deadlines
Invoiced sales statistical forecasting
Depletion statistical forecast for those with available data
Sales history cleaning (outliers)
Management of aggregation/disaggregation factors
Product segmentation & classification analysis
Together with the demand planners in market, conduct root cause analysis and corrective action planning to understand sales forecast errors and bias performance
Provide the detailed analysis of forecast trends and accuracy for local pre-demand/demand review process
Measure progress and report consolidated performance to central teams
Drive key interactions with the country management, with responsibility for the quality of the baseline statistical forecast
Hold Demand Managers accountable for the agreed actions to improve forecast performance

How to Serve:

Educated to degree standard preferably with a relevant business/engineering/computer science/business information/mathematics/statistics qualification
Fluent Business English
Minimum 3-4 years Supply Chain experience in an FMCG
Strong understanding of using demand forecasting tools & system processes and understanding of forecasting heuristics
General knowledge of statistics and a good level of understanding of statistical forecasting methods
Prior experience in similar planning roles (Demand planning, Production Planning, etc.)
Experience in driving the Sales and Operations Planning process
SAP APO experience is an advantage
