The Market Planning Analyst/Manager will bring sharp insight, penetrating analysis and future opportunity identification. This will be based on consumer, category and market data, in service of achieving Diageo Europe’s performance ambitions.
As part of the Europe Consumer and Shopper Planning team, the individual will share the ambition to deliver thought leadership and action, by consistently unlocking powerful insight that inspire big marketing and innovation ideas and then directs them to brilliant execution.
This role has a high degree of technical complexity in terms of data knowledge and understanding. EPM - European Partner Markets has 31 countries with varying data sources and coverage.

Key Responsibilities:

Manages (and supports the Finance BPM owner) the external (ie non financial) business reporting processes in the European Partner Markets (incl. target setting) to drive understanding from a consumer and market performance
Supports the integration of many data sources into the internal Apollo system (MSTR based system) to answer key business questions
Acting as a catalyst in EPM for self access via coaching and training for use of the Apollo system and/or other data access
Embeds a rigorous M&E culture in EPM through supporting on going programmes (eg econometrics) and creating different methodologies where current Europe best practice is not fit for purpose
Provides support to the EPM leadership team throughout the annual planning process in terms of market forecasts & trends
Drive competitor understanding into the business so Diageo can win share

Qualifications and experience required:

Experience in analytical roles using a variety of data sources (external and internal)
Experience of managing agency relationships and data planning or analysis
Strong understanding of consumer, market (Nielsen) and media data
Previous experience of building or driving analytical systems would be desirable but not essential
An individual who has the ability to influence across senior levels
Resilience combined with emotional intelligence to build collaborative and powerful relationships
Ability to work as part of a team, while also having a high degree of ownership for completing their own tasks.
