The taste:

• To ensure that statutory reporting is completed accurately and on time and that the surrounding internal control procedures are robust and sustainable and are strictly adhered to in lines with CARM processes
• To contribute ideas, energy, enthusiasm and support to the continuous improvement of the "Statutory Compliance" process to be more efficient and standardised.
• To take responsibility for the day to day tasks required
• As part of this role, to be responsible for the quality, accuracy, timeliness and financial relevance of the statutory information.


Statutory reporting
• To produce complex statutory financial statements under local GAAP for each financial year in line with timetable. Produce analytical review of statutory accounts to provide meaningful explanation of the entity’s activities and performance during the year.
• To ensure that the year-end financial statements are audit compliant and to ensure that the served markets fully meet external and Diageo internal statutory reporting requirements.
• Be in contact with statutory auditors. Answer questions, resolve issues as arose.
• Seek to participate in continuous improvement ethic and support the Europe Financial Controlling team in projects and work initiatives as required.
• Take on leader role in certain team/departmental wide initiatives.

How to serve:

• Qualified Accountant with a minimum 2-3 years experience preferably within big4
• Audit background is a huge advantage
• International qualification (IAS/UK GAAP) is an advantage but some
experiance in IFRS and/or UK /other local GAAPs is necessary
• Experience in working with integrated software system (SAP
knowledge is an advantage)
• Fluent in English
• Attention to detail / Overview of the business: able to operate at the
detailed level when necessary, but always focuses on the big picture
• Results orientated and capable of working in a deadline driven
• Strong analytical and questioning skills
• Self-starter – ability to work through problems to resolution
