Sales Executive

Diageo

London, United Kingdom

External Job Description
A day in the life of this role looks like:

You wake up buzzing about what today brings. Today is the first day of the new quarter and this means new targets to beat and new products to sell! First things first, you need to go and collect your stock for the week from your local cash and carry. With the boot full of stock, you drive to your local storage unit and refresh the point of sale material and glasses that you may need to support the sale of the products. As you do every week, you also pick up some more essential Guinness glasses, Guinness bar runners and some Smirnoff chalk boards because pub owners always use these! One more check before you start selling for the morning and that’s to confirm your daily priorities and the targets you need to hit for the day. You view the route of the 10 calls that you booked yesterday and check the appointment times you arranged.

First call is The Dog and Duck at 9am. Dave is expecting you as you confirmed your appointment with him yesterday. As in every call, you start by completing a Guinness quality assessment; this involves checking the temperature, head size and tasting the Guinness. Dave already stocks Smirnoff, but doesn’t have our new products. On your way into the pub, you noticed that Dave has a big beer garden plus a late license, perfect for our new innovative products! You sell in Pimm’s Blackberry and Elderflower as a great opportunity for Dave’s beer garden in the Summer and you sell in Smirnoff Gold for his higher tempo weekend nights. After taking the cash from Dave and ensuring the bottles are on display, you show Dave how to make great finished drinks with the new products; you set up the visibility kit and give Dave 5 Pimm’s jugs and a Smirnoff chalk board to get him started. Back in the car, you complete the necessary admin on your Ipad and you are onto your next call.
