Executive - Project Manager

Job Summary
As Project Management Lead to ensure that the projects from the region achieve positive financial results and that they are delivered successfully. This includes the following aspects:

Central Region – Gauteng, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, North West, Free State.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitoring the performance and delivery of projects in the region.
Identifying project performance and delivery risks.
Developing risk mitigations jointly with the relevant project managers.
Implementing mitigation actions for maximum immediate impact as well the implementation of medium and long term actions to ensure successful project delivery.
Managing the project management workforce for the Central Region with close cooperation with the other Regional Project Management Leads to ensure high utilization country wide.
Providing support to individual staff through mentorship and regular face to face consultations.
Ensuring that career paths for staff are set and creating opportunities for career growth for project managers and support staff.
Providing guidance to project managers to ensure Healthy Project Starts and Re-Starts on projects with performance and delivery challenges.
Promoting a culture of dedication and cooperation by providing an open and positive environment within the business line.
Monitoring the Financial performance of projects on a continuous basis to ensure maximum possible margin / profit, accurate revenue recognition, financial reporting and strict management of accounts receivable.
Facilitating the building of strong inter business line relationships as well as building strong relationships with the design and engineering and cost management business lines.
Leading major bids for the company for any of the AECOM Business Lines as well as providing support to bids led by others.
Establishing, building and maintaining strong client relationships and business development.
Promoting commitment to Health, Safety and Environment.

Minimum Requirements
15-20 years’ experience in the Consulting Engineering, Project Management and / or Construction Industry.

Key skills required:
Extensive knowledge and experience in the Engineering and Construction Industry.
Experienced in Multi‐disciplinary Project Management and Construction management.
Strategic Planning and Management with the goal to grow the business unit in line the overall company vision and strategy.
Business Development.
Tenders / Bid preparation and management.
Customer / Client Relations and management.
Financial Management of the business unit and projects.
Stakeholder Management.
Budgeting & Cost Controls.
Legal / Contractual Management.
Risk Management.
Technical and Design Management.
Resource planning, utilization and management.
Earned Value management.
Excellent administration skills and knowledge of contracts.
Excellent in Scope definition, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), detail Project activity planning.
Development of work procedures and Quality Management systems

Preferred Qualifications
Engineering, or Project Management, or Construction Management degree.
Professional engineering or project management registration.
