Graduate Engineer - Mechanical

Job Summary

Duties and Responsibilities:
To be trained in Fire Protection Engineering Services,
Fire Protection Engineering Design including Sprinkler systems, Fire Detection systems, Smoke Extraction systems, Hydrants & Hose Reels, Fire Signage,
To be trained in relevant Fire Protection Engineering software i.e Pathfinder, Pyrosim & Canute,
Liaison with local authorities including Council submissions and sign-off,
To gain knowledge of SANS 10400 Part T and rational fire designs according to PD7974,
Interfacing of designs with other disciplines e.g. structural, architectural, mechanical & electrical,
To be trained to handle full scope of fire consulting services on projects from conception to close-out,
Implementing and ensuring of compliance to company quality management system,
Use of international and local design standards and codes of practice i.e SANS, BS & NFPA,
Liaison with Clients and other consultants,
Report to Line Manager regarding progress on training and projects.

Minimum Requirements
Experience:

Experience 0-2 years
Willing to be seconded to AECOM UK for a 2 year training period after which Candidate will return to AECOM SA Durban office.

Personal attributes, qualities or competencies needed:

Independent worker, deadline oriented, committed and driven individual.
Other comments:

Valid driver’s licence.

Preferred Qualifications
B.Eng. Mechanical Engineering.
