Health & Safety Coordinator

DESCRIPTION

The Health and Safety team is responsible for supporting and advising the FC management team on health and safety matters. The team is also responsible for training managers and associates, managing the Gensuite system and implementing safety initiatives and programmes as necessary. This role will predominately manage the role out of safety initiatives, projects, training and administrative duties on nightshift giving support to managers as needed. The candidate must have the confidence to train and advise managers of Amazon safety policies and procedures. There will also be the requirement to cover holidays and absence for other members of the safety team.

Supports Amazon’s goals in improving safety, productivity and the overall customer experience

Responsible for supporting the site management team in complying with Amazon safety policies and standards

Carry out inductions and H&S training modules for managers and associates are required

Responsible for project managing and implementing safety initiatives and projects for the site

Complete all H&S administrative duties in a timely manner with a view to simplifying processes and assist the rest of the team

Facilitate the completion and maintenance of risk assessments by the operations team in a timely manner

Give Gensuite support where necessary

Support the health and safety manager and the team as required

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Well-developed observational and analytical skills

Strong interpersonal and networking skills

Well-honed communications skills, including presentation skills, verbal reasoning and written communications

Demonstrate the ability to implement projects to a successful conclusion taking personal ownership for the outcome

Well-developed problem solving abilities

Ability to identify and address safety hazards within the work environment working with the operations teams

Be a positive role model for safety

Earn trust of others – must be excellent at working within a team and have the ability to influence other teams and managers

Demonstration of influencing skills with management teams

Skilled at using all MS packages, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint as administrative duties form a large part of this position

Demonstrates a methodical approach towards tasks

Must be willing to work flexible schedules / shifts as required to provide cover for other team members

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
