For our office in Warsaw we are searching for a (Junior) Financial Analyst (fixed-term contract 9 months)

Diageo Polska, based in Warsaw, is a subsidiary of Diageo Plc and a leading business unit in Eastern and Central Europe. The company focuses on Johnnie Walker whisky, Reserve portfolio, as well as Baileys and Sheridan’s liqueurs. Diageo Polska is an IMC distributing Diageo Premium Spirits in the territory of Poland.

Poland spirits market represents significant growth potential for Diageo business through expansion of Diageo international brands portfolio with focus on Whisky and Reserve. The trade environment is challenging with a number of international customers, local chains and discounters intensively competing for market share. In this context the role of our Commercial Finance team is critical in delivering sustainable revenue growth and operating margin expansion to deliver the vision for the business.

The (Junior) Financial Analyst plays a key role in our Commercial Finance Team in Poland in providing insight, data analysis and investment decision tools to the Poland Commercial teams to drive and support great decision making that ultimately maximize Net Sales Value, profit and cash delivery.

Your role

As (Junior) Financial Analyst you will report to our Commercial Finance Manager Poland but you will often interact with our Sales team, CMO and Marketing teams as well as the local financial control team. In addition your responsibilities are:

• Be a part of AOP planning for Advertising & Promotion (A&P) spend
• Monitor budget utilization
• Analyse effectiveness of A&P spend and search for ideas to improve it
• Lead value chain analysis supporting commercial team in making decision optimal from financial point of view
• Support innovation team making sure that new product launches KPIs are properly set and later delivered
• Be part of annual planning cycle for Poland
• Be an integral part of management closing process especially in area of accrual calculations
• Support our Commercial Finance Manager with other analytical tasks

Your profile

• University degree, ideally experience within financial planning and analysis,
• Profound knowledge of various financial aspects of business activity
• Openness, thoroughness,
• Good technical skills, advanced Excel / databases skills,
• Languages: fluent in Polish and English
• ACCA/CIMA qualification (in progress) would be an additional advantage
