Director of Cost Management - Infrastructure (South West)

Our South West Cost Management business unit continues to grow with a specific growth demand within the Infrastructure sector (Water, Rail, Power, Highways, Environment, Ports & Marine and Nuclear) where we have successfully secured positions with many high profile clients and some key local projects and programs in the industry.

As a direct result of this growth AECOM is currently seeking a full time Director of Cost Management for Infrastructure.

As Director you will help lead the cost practice across the region, where it has successfully carried out cost management work with many high profile clients and some of the largest projects within the area.

Minimum Requirements

•To develop and grow a Cost Management offer within the Infrastructure sector
•To develop relationships with existing and new clients including cross selling opportunities
•To lead significant Cost Management Commissions, taking overall responsibility for their successful delivery
•To provide oversight / strategic guidance /audit & review, to a portfolio of projects being lead within the cost centre
•To be specifically responsible for delegated business development / marketing tasks
•To provide effective Line Management to AD’s, SQSs, QSs and AQSs
•As Director you will be assessed by the extent to which:
•Commissions are managed to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently and on time
•General line management responsibilities are effectively discharged and the cost management team is led effectively
•Strong relationships are developed with clients and members of the cross-functional team
•Significant experience in the Infrastructure Market with experience and training within a PQS business.
•Experience at a leadership level in a comparative business;
•Extensive experience acting in a leadership capacity
•Track record of managing teams
•Commercial experience is essential along with a proven track record of winning and retaining new Clients
•Experienced in a Client management role – Able to manage the account in terms of projects that are ‘live’, plus seeking new opportunities.
•Experience monitoring gainshare models.
•Cost Audits.
•Target cost setting.
•Determining & establishing client/contract risk allocation.
•Contract preparation and execution.
•Risk management.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideally Degree Qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar qualification and hold Chartered status.
Good Understanding of contracts, specifically NEC contracts
Project Cost Tool (PCT) / Other cost benchmarking software
CSCS card holder
Extensive Infrastructure knowledge
