To underpin its academic work, the School of Education has a Professional Service team providing a core administrative service across all our teaching and research activities.

Job Description
Reporting to the Departmental Manager, you will have overall management responsibility for the delivery of processes and activities directly affecting the experience of all students within the
School. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to seek opportunities to improve the student experience through ongoing review and improvement of processes and services, and work
proactively to develop policies and procedures to support the delivery of the School’s strategic objectives. You will model excellent customer service and professionalism, and will manage and motivate the Student Experience team to ensure the provision of a first class service which is consistent, effective and efficient. You will form part of the School’s Senior Management Team,
working collegially across Professional Services to deliver an efficient and effective administrative function.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
 Responsible for the management and leadership of the Student Experience function, developing policies and procedures to ensure an effective, efficient and high quality
professional service which supports the School’s teaching activities and the student experience.
 Provide strong and proactive leadership to the 6 members of staff within the Student Experience function, directly line managing 3 individuals.
 Management oversight of all activities within Student Experience, including examinations, quality assurance and review, curriculum development, accreditation, timetabling, etc,
monitoring for compliance with University policy and procedures and drafting of relevant reports. Provide guidance and direction to the team as required, and update Departmental Manager regarding activities on a regular basis.
 Work with the Director of Learning and Teaching in the strategic development and implementation of learning and teaching strategies, procedures and policies, ensuring these are documented and communicated as appropriate. Lead on the implementation of specific areas of the School’s learning and teaching strategy as required.
 Active member of the School’s Learning and Teaching Committee, and other School/Faculty/University committees as required.
 Design, develop and implement innovative School-wide policies to operationalise the School’s learning and teaching strategy. Lead on teaching projects or other strategically important areas
as deemed appropriate by the Director of Learning and Teaching and Departmental Manager.
 Work closely with the Learning Technologist to ensure the implementation of technological developments meet the strategic learning and teaching needs of the School, and support the
activities of the Student Experience team.
 Oversee all programmes within the School, including collaborative and interdisciplinary programmes, ensuring learning and teaching processes are consistently applied and reflect
Faculty and University requirements, liaising closely with academic colleagues to ensure partnership working.
