UX Design Manager, Amazon Video

We are seeking a Senior UX Design Manager to help us deliver this for our Living Room products and Design Technology capability. In this role, you will have the opportunity to think and act big, exercising continuous innovation and a bias for action, coupled with thoughtful experimentation. The ideal candidate will be a systems-level design thinker and visionary, with strong customer instincts and outstanding design intuition, who will provide vision and direction to a team of Designers and Design Technologists.

You’ll be directly responsible for our Living Room products which include Amazon Video on numerous smart TVs, set top boxes, game consoles, Roku, Apple TV, and more. You’ll also be directly responsible for the Design Technology team which builds advanced prototypes and UI systems and technologies across Web, Mobile, and Living Room platforms. Finally, you will be the senior-most Design Leader for our London team with oversight of local Web and Client UX work as well, and responsibilities to represent the Design team and agenda in the London location. In this larger capacity, you will be responsible for developing and socializing a vision that drives engagement and excitement throughout London and the entire Amazon Video organization - working closely with peers in product management and engineering to help shape the next generation of video consumption.

Key Strategic Objectives

The UX Design Leader will join and closely collaborate with the Amazon Video leadership team.
At a high level, their objectives will be to:
· Lead new creative thinking across diverse product releases; drive the direction, style, and methodology of design and usability for Amazon Video Living Room products.
· Lead and grow the Design Technologist team in both London and Seattle locations; for both prototyping and UI technology systems responsibilities.
· Champion coherence in UX design by working closely with design leaders across multiple platforms, while continuing to nurture and evangelize a fervent culture of invention and innovation.
· Lead cross-team conceptual development; be a strategic thought leader in how to implement unmatched experiences that represent the most customer-centric intersection between design, business, content, and technology.
· Foster Amazon’s culture and principles within the group while setting new standards in executional and operational excellence.
· Recruit, assess, hire, develop, and retain an organization of outstanding UX personnel.
· Positively influence the discipline of design across the company, by regularly contributing to and leading cross-organizational design events, discussions, and initiatives.

· Lead a creative team of IA, UX, and Visual as well as UX Technologists to evolve and reinvent Amazon Video 3PLR UX· Create UX that balances consistency across all our platforms with mobile and device specific needs
· Collaborate with designers in Amazon Video, Brand and beyond on our next generation UX style and system
· Ensure our Living Room UX and Technical UI Systems and Production Workflows supports measurable business requirements and goals
· Incorporate market analysis, customer feedback, technical constraints, and usability findings into design
· Iteratively create interaction flows, wireframes, visual and interactive mockups throughout the Design process
· Develop, deliver, and maintain detailed design specifications for Engineering
· Present design work to UX, Product, and Engineering teams, as well as stakeholders and executive leadership
· Hire, manage, mentor, and develop designers within and beyond your team

· 8+ years of experience as a UX designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar
· 5+ years as manager of small to medium size design teams
· Bachelor's or Master’s degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience
· Experience creating services and applications with multiple user touchpoints on different platforms and devices. This includes mobile, web, devices, and voice.
· Experience with digital media, ecommerce, search, social, and other major application types and their UX patterns
· Portfolio of work demonstrating breadth and depth in UX and visual design. This should also include approach and process.
· Experience as a leader of multi-disciplinary creative teams
· Familiarity with technical aspects of UX across iOS, Android, and other mobile platforms.
