Software Development Engineer

We're looking for a talented software engineer to help us build the next generation of our data management systems. We're looking for people excited and knowledgeable about developing on the web, managing large data sets, expert systems and machine learning. We hire engineers with a passion for architecting, building, testing and maintaining robust, scalable systems and who enjoy working on the entire stack, from front to back.

· Computer Science Honours degree (2:1 or better) or postgraduate study (in lieu of degree, relevant skills and equivalent experience).
· High proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, C++, Perl, or C#.
· Demonstrated knowledge of algorithms, data-structures, object-oriented development and design patterns.
· Demonstrated knowledge of OS fundamentals and systems architecture.
· Strong analytical and excellent problem solving skills.
· Strong written and verbal English communications skills.

· Experience of mentoring other engineers
· Linux/UNIX including command-line tools and scripting
· Web development (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript)
· Big data, machine learning and other statistical analysis
· Cloud computing, large-scale and high-availability distributed architecture
· Agile methods

· Results oriented and analytical, with a strong customer and business focus.
· Ability to communicate and discuss technical topics with both technical and business audiences.
· Highly innovative, self-directed and able to deal well with ambiguous problems.
· Strong sense of ownership, with a passion for software and continuous learning.
