Global Finance Operations is a world-wide finance organization that works side by side with all Amazon businesses to help build and support the amazing products and services across all aspects of the company. The organization is responsible for driving world class processes like procure-to-pay and order-to-cash. We are constantly driving process improvements, defect reduction, and free cash flow improvements, with a high level of controllership and customer centricity.

The Finance Operations Business Partnership team consists of Finance professionals who are deeply engaged with Business, Business Finance, and Business Technology teams in a way that allows us to identify and drive opportunity (improve customer experience, increase free cash flow and operating profit, reduce defects) on behalf of the Company; develop and deliver cross functional initiatives which continuously improve the services we provide; and align in a way that addresses both immediate needs and long term initiatives.

The EMEA Finance Operations Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team of this fast growing organization is now looking for an experienced business analyst to support our financial, reporting and data analytics needs.

We’re not an average retailer and this is definitely not your average Finance position. You will partner with and support the multiple functions within the business both in the UK and in Europe, define and establish best practice, initiate and take ownership of improvement projects, in an environment that is incredibly fast paced. You will lead a team of two highly skilled individual contributors.

Job Description:
Amazon is looking for an experienced business analyst to support our EMEA Finance Operations FP&A business analytics needs. A successful candidate will have a strong sense of analysis, passion for data and the capacity to dive deep in order to accurately present the data available to make key business decisions. They should be able to think creatively and work in a constantly evolving environment. They will be able to speak the language of both business and technical teams, taking business requirements and developing solutions to understand business impact. The Business Analyst will be part of a team of high calibre finance professionals and will partner closely with in-country business and finance leadership to support and optimise existing reporting as well as working with Operations teams primarily located in India and Slovakia to drive change through insight. The successful candidate will drive developments in reporting, forecasting and analysis enabling the EMEA Finance Operations team to drive value to the Amazon P&L and Balance Sheet.

Job Responsibilities include:
· Retrieving and analysing data using SQL, Excel, and other data management systems.
· Co-ordinate with business SMEs to deep dive and understand functional areas and processes.
· Analyse data trends to understand behaviour and model statistical solutions using tools to optimise business process.
· Develop reports to provide insights to business using intuitive tools/interfaces.
· Examine and evaluate the purpose and content of business reports to develop new, or iterate on existing formats,
· Review reports to determine basic characteristics, such as origin and report flow, format, frequency, distribution and purpose or function of reports.
· Engage with business partners receiving reports to identify problems and to gather suggestions for improvements.
· Applying general business and financial analysis skills to ensure the delivery of company strategies.
· Supporting the development of the Business Intelligence project roadmap and working with multiple teams to implement effective long-term solutions to Finance Operations’ business intelligence requirements.
· Delivering input and analysis to monthly balance sheet and operations reviews with the Finance Operations VP, Business VPs and Directors, and quarterly with the world-wide CFO.

Basic Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree preferably in finance, accounting, information technology or equivalent practical experience.
· Robust analytical & modelling skills.
· A fluency in standard software including Excel and Access.
· Experience with SQL coding extraction across standard commercial databases
· Experience with data and related data analytics
· Superior attention to detail.
· Comfortable working in cross-functional teams.
· High level verbal and written communication skills.
· Ability to work independently in a rapidly changing environment.
