Senior Application Developer

The Taste:
The Application Support Team is part of Global Operations and Engineering (GOE) that was created with the ambition to help drive Diageo's growth by ensuring the stability of the technology tools, systems and processes. This involves maintaining, protecting and enhancing a flexible platform of technology that supports the ever changing business in a cost effective manner. This role sits within the Financial Consolidation Application team focusing on supporting statutory and management reporting.


Ensure that BFC application is always available and captures Diageo requirements, especially during the closing period.
Ensuring that financial master data, mapping rules and dimensions are accurately maintained; and carry out the month-end closure processes
Ensure the integrity between SAP and BFC through the mapping rules.
To provide a world-class front line support
Being the first point of contact for servers used by BFC and monitor their performance in cooperation with the application owner.
Ensure a stable environment and be able to coordinate issue resolution between 3rd party resolvers and Diageo users
Be able to respond to top level Diageo management and capable to bridge the gap between business and technical language
Ensure that as a centrally managed application, all changes are consulted with the relevant parties globally

How to Serve:

College or University Degree (preferably computer science/ technical/ finance)
Minimum 2 years of experience at a multinational company in either Finance or Technical / Development areas (ideally Shared Service centre operations)
Fluent Business English
VBA programming experience
Proven experience in database programming (SQL or Oracle) is a great advantage
Proven experience in application development
Technical knowledge on server management
Experience in database or ETL (data services) tools preferred
Experience of, or previous exposure to, SAP, Cartesis Magnitude, BFC or other ERP systems preferred
Ability to communicate and operate at all levels within the organization
