Purpose

Deliver accurate and timely clean base-line demand forecasts, identify trends, patterns and drivers in historic data. Ensure this forecast is used in S&OP/IBP process.
Analyse and participate in defining trends in Innovation and promotions. Support scenarios planning.
Drive Sales Forecast Accuracy (primarily reducing the loss in baseline variation) to agreed accuracy.

Ownership

Generate base line statistical demand forecast for at least 18 months rolling.
Use and maintain the software as the primary forecasting system tool
Maintain clean forecast history documenting adjustments and assumptions (market trends, seasonality, promotions).
Maintain statistical parameters for “best fit” model & generate a baseline at least 18 month rolling.
Check and maintain data integrity and perform product segmentation & classification analysis.
Analyse outliers through appropriate reports and make corrections.
Interact with countries’ teams regarding forecast drivers, conduct root cause analysis and actions to improve accuracy and bias.
Support scenario planning for promotions, innovation and major events (duty, economics change, etc.) through stat analysis.
Provide reports and insights to stakeholders to maximise the use of baseline forecast.

Participate where relevant in S&OP process to align upon consensus forecast.
Participate in AOP (budget) process (ISC Shipments and base line for Sales AOP), closely work with stakeholders supporting AOP. Review statistical input to Strategic Planning and AOP process and challenge projected growth based on historical trends.

Own and participate in improvement agenda
Work with our Operational Excellence function; studying and implementing tools and processes to improve accuracy.
Be curious, search new ideas, identify applicability for Diageo and propose improvements.
Continuously improve statistical forecasting method:
Test and implement new models
Identify and implement best practices
Mentor stakeholders
Support system developments
Develop ways of history cleaning
Act as APO super users, provide capability guidance

Qualifications

Degree in supply chain, mathematical or business studies. APICS is desirable
Statistical modelling and forecasting (lifecycle planning, base, events, trend analysis)
Strong understanding of demand forecasting tools & system processes
Knowledge of statistics and a good level of understanding of statistical forecasting methods

Experience

Demonstrable Planning experience in CPG (Demand, Supply, Replenishment Planning, Logistics, S&OP), preferably with cross functional experience
Participating/facilitating S&OP in an international commercially oriented environment. Ability to challenge senior stakeholders and hold tension in S&OP conversations.
