Sarah Kuijlaars, Chief Financial Officer and member of the Executive Board at Arcadis, is sharing her view on the power of citizen-centric thinking at the Global Female Leaders summit.

Sarah's talk at the Global Female Leaders Summit is on 'The Power of Citizen Centric Thinking: why data is key to improving quality of life', with a focus on using data and analyzing it effectively while keeping the end user at the centre of decisions. 

She is also discussing why companies like Arcadis approach data with an empathetic lens and how data can be used to introduce positive change when it comes to cities and their citizens.

A strong business ethic and focus on people development

Sarah has led an impressive and rewarding career as an executive woman working at Arcadis.

She holds a Master's degree in Mathematics from the University of Oxford and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (FCMA). Formerly the Chief Financial Officer of the Rolls-Royce Civil Aerospace business, Sarah held several finance leadership roles during her 25-year career with Royal Dutch Shell. She has also worked in several geographies with distinctly different cultures and has dealt with multiple stakeholders in complex business relationships.

Sarah has been involved in a variety of exciting projects during her career, is known for her strong business ethics, her focus on people development and her ability to identify and manage risk in complex business environments.

She has a strong track record of delivering change at senior levels in world-class organisations and can work effectively in different cultural environments. She has strong communication skills, as a hands-on business partner in capital-intensive industries. Sarah has also held various Director and Audit Committee Chair roles.
