Colleen McMillan, Vice President of Channel Sales at F5 Networks, has been recognized as a Top Gun 51 Channel Executive.
For inclusion on Top Gun's list, Colleen had to demonstrate that she was an advocate for the channel model with internal leadership; that she is committed to partners’ business success through an increase in the percentage of revenue coming through partners during tenure; that she can show data to support innovative programs for, for example, use of MDF funds, training and certifications; and, finally, that she works to earn trust and is seen as ethical and honest by partners while being transparent about the direction of F5 and limitations of product or service.
"Thank you very much for the honor of being named a Top Gun 51 Channel Executive. And to my colleagues and peers, a big congratulations. Words cannot express how I am feeling today," says Colleen about this prestigious recognition.
Improving on F5's channel strategy through partner feedback
During Colleen’s career at F5, she has improved on an already strong channel strategy and delivered increased value for F5’s partner base. A proven channel leader from her previous roles at Gemalto, Qlik, Citrix and VMWare, Colleen began by making sure that F5 fully understood its partners: what was working, what wasn’t working, and how to drive greater partner growth and success through investment in a constantly changing industry, with new products and new license and subscription models.

As well as meeting and listening to more than 100 partners globally within her first 90 days on board, Colleen launched the inaugural annual Voice of the Partner (VOP) survey globally, with almost 2,000 individuals providing unbiased feedback. She then captured the data and made a case for increasing investment in dollars, tools and channel-dedicated resources.
Further recognition for Colleen's leadership at F5
This isn't the first time Colleen has been recognized for her leadership at F5. She was also named as a Channel Chief by CRN. The CRN Channel Chiefs is an annual list of partner-focused business leaders who drive the local partner strategies for the world’s leading technology vendors.
