A prestigious apprenticeship programme
The Arup apprenticeship allows you to study for an academic qualification while working and learning in offices alongside respected, technical professionals.
As an apprentice, you’ll study at a local college on day release, working towards an accredited qualification and combine this experience with workplace learning. Some apprenticeships, for example in HR or finance, take place entirely within the workplace.
Whichever your chosen apprenticeship, you’ll be given a mentor who’ll guide you through your professional and personal development. You’ll also have regular contact with our learning and development advisor.
Building Arup’s skills base
Arup plans to recruit apprentices into disciplines including civil and structural engineering, building services engineering, rail design engineering, business and admin, IT and telecoms, project management, transport planning, mechanical and electrical design and construction management.
The increase in the number of new recruits is a sign of the strength of the market - it needs these skills. Arup strongly supports the apprenticeship scheme as a way of growing their own resource base.
Currently, Arup have apprentices studying the following subjects:
Accountancy, Building services, Business and admin, Civil engineering, Digital consulting, Environmental consulting, Project management, Quantity surveying, Rail design, Structural engineering, Transport planning.
The best people to describe the experience are the apprentices themselves. Apprentices like Jamie-Lee bring enthusiasm and skills and in return Arup offers support via training and mentoring on some of the country’s most high-profile and demanding projects.
