Amazon supports launch of Black Equity At Work certification

Amazon is among the first companies to establish the Black Equity at Work Certification launched by Management Leadership for Tomorrow (MLT).

Helping Amazon to forge Black equity 

MLT is a national nonprofit drives action and accountability on diversity, equity and inclusion in corporate America. Their Black Equity At Work certification is a first-of-its-kind, clear standard and roadmap for companies like Amazon that want to achieve Black equity through a systematic and measurable approach. The certification was developed in partnership with Boston Consulting Group.

MLT Black Equity at Work Certification focuses on People, Purchasing, and Philanthropy.

Amazon joins further launch employers including Workday, Moody's, BCG, Warner Media, PNC and Davita.

Important initiatives supporting Black employees 

Amazon Black Employee Network

Amazon is already making steps to support its diverse workforce.

For example, Amazon's Black Employee Network’s (BEN) promotes the inclusion of the diverse perspectives of people of Black African and Caribbean descent. BEN organizes professional development workshops to support employees and community led events. 

Recently BEN facilitated a range of activities for customers and employees to celebrate UK Black History Month.
