Kate at Arcadis teaches school children about sustainability

 October 30, 2018

Kate Aspinall is a Senior Project Manager at Arcadis and has created a series of workshops to get primary school pupils involved in learning about the environment

"It’s never too early to get young people excited about the world around them. Sustainability is such an important factor so, prompted by students’ interest in their school buildings, I created a series of workshops to get primary school pupils involved in learning about the environment," said Kate.

Inspiring the next generation

As Senior Project Manager at Arcadis, Kate supports schools and trusts with Free School applications, academy conversions and procurement of professional services. She also delivers priority schools building programme for the Education & Skills Funding Agency and leads Inspire a Generation school engagement programme for Arcadis UK.

At the workshops, Kate talked to the children about how to cut energy usage and encouraged them to make recommendations for their own schools. "It’s the first time Arcadis has worked with primary school children and it’s been a great opportunity to develop awareness and core skills. Using real-life examples, the initiative can raise aspirations among young people and perhaps sow the seeds for a career in our industry one day!" added Kate.
