Medtronic is looking for ambitious, exceptional MBA students to take part in its Summer Internship Program. Be challenged, engaged and sharpen your skills with real work experiences. Work alongside other talented professionals to solve problems, improve processes, create new products, and empower customers. Medtronic offers  internship experiences and full-time opportunities in many of the countries where it operates.

MBA Summer Internship Program

If you want to test your skills and make meaningful contributions to the world's leading healthcare technology and solutions, this program is for you. Along with a challenging 10–12-week internship assignment, you'll have opportunities to network with peers, managers, and Medtronic leadership team, as well as experience its dynamic culture though social events and volunteer activities. High-performing interns will be considered for full-time opportunities in Medtronic's Leadership Development Rotation Program.

Gain exposure to the core business, technologies and culture while working on a highly visible and impactful team in marketing, strategy or business development. Use your skills and experience to lead an important project that impacts a key business objective.

MBA summer interns play a critical role achieving business results — designing and executing key marketing and business development strategies. You can expect to gain broad knowledge of Medtronic's marketing, business development and strategy functions.

  • Product/Brand Management
  • Market Development
  • Product Planning
  • Healthcare Economics
  • Business Development
  • Corporate Strategy

Choose your location

Locations include Minneapolis, MN; Memphis, TN; Boulder/Louisville, CO; Northridge, CA; Boston, MA; Santa Rosa, CA; New Haven, CT; and Miami, FL.

If you relocate for the summer, Medtronic covers your travel expenses to your internship and back to campus and subsidizes your housing costs.

Candidate qualifications

High potential MBA candidates with strong communication and leadership skills must be open to exploring a variety of assignments and business units.

Successful candidates must meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • 2 years of professional work experience (3+ strongly preferred)
  • Currently pursuing an MBA
  • Highly mobile and willing to pursue opportunities in different geographies
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for sponsorship for an employment visa in the future.

As an engineering intern, you will be immersed in Medtronic's innovative, mission- driven culture, while gaining meaningful work experiences that help you grow. You will work with leaders who are eager to help you achieve your goals and excel on your intern project. As a Supply Chain or Supply Management Intern, you will get broad exposure to Medtronic's Supply Chain or Supply Management organizations by participating in special projects and strategic initiatives that are business critical. During your summer internship, you will gain knowledge in project planning, project management, and managing external resources. You will also receive professional development, exposure to leadership, opportunities to grow your professional network and a variety of social and volunteer events to make connections with other interns! High-performing interns are considered for full-time opportunities in the organization.
