Arcadis named one of UK’s Top 25 Big Companies to work for

 March 20, 2019

Arcadis has been named by the Sunday Times as one of the UK’s Top 25 Big Companies to work for. With winners assessed across a range of aspects such as workplace engagement, leadership, staff well-being, development opportunities, company culture and values, Arcadis’ place on this prestigious annual list differentiates it as truly going the extra mile to make a thriving workplace environment.

People at Arcadis can be their best

Ranking in 12th place overall, Arcadis’ ‘Best Companies’ accreditation has only been made possible thanks to an incredible commitment to workplace engagement, a strong wellbeing agenda and an aim to make a positive difference to society. It is recognition the significant investment Arcadis has made to establishing a positive environment in which its people can be their best.

The Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For lists are exclusively based on the views of employees. The highly competitive ‘Big Companies’ list highlights the leading 25 companies in this particular category. To join the list, organisations must recruit at least 3,000 full-time employees and have some of the highest Best Companies Index (BCI) scores overall.

People at Arcadis can realise their potential

“An engaged workforce is happier, motivated and more productive, and I’m proud that our people genuinely feel we have an environment at Arcadis that enables them to grow and realise their potential. Our ‘People First’ approach is all about building something for our people, by our people, and we are committed to attracting the best talent and providing the best opportunities to learn, collaborate and – importantly - work on some really exciting projects," says Mark Cowlard, UK CEO of Arcadis.

“Over the last year we have been making an unprecedented investment in our business and our people. From implementing clear and consistent business models and processes, through to promoting flexible working solutions and supporting our employees to grow and expand skillsets to meet future market needs, our focus has been to embed best practice and equip our people for success. Our ethos is all about striving to improve people’s quality of life, and I’m delighted to see this being played out in every aspect of our business.”

“I would like to congratulate Arcadis on their achievement being named as one of the UK’s Best Companies to Work for. Best Companies have been producing the Accreditation standard since 2006 to acknowledge excellence in the workplace. We are proud that organisations like Arcadis focus on their employees and have been rewarded with an engaged workforce who tell us that they’re a best company to work for," says Jonathan Austin, Founder and CEO of Best Companies.

People at Arcadis sit at the heart of the business

Arcadis was also recently recognised by Glassdoor as one of the Best Places to Work in 2019, thanks to its Employees’ Choice Awards. This recognition is also based entirely on the input of employees, who chose to give feedback on their jobs, company and work environments.

“Our people sit at the very heart of our business, and we’re proud to have fostered a culture and ethos that supports our employees to be their best. We want Arcadis to be a unique place to work, where our people have the flexibility to own and develop their careers in a way that works for them," says Mark.

"From the opportunity to work on industry defining projects to collaborating with smart people that bring new perspectives, we aim to create a flexible and agile working environment that meets the needs of today’s and tomorrow’s workforce. Attracting, engaging and retaining the best talent in the business is a huge priority for us, and it’s fantastic to have received such a resounding endorsement from our people.”

“In today’s tight labour market, job seekers are in the driver’s seat when it comes to deciding where to work and they want to know the inner workings of a company before accepting a new job. To help people find the best jobs and the best companies, the Glassdoor Employees’ Choice Awards recognise employers at the top of their game," adds Dr. Andrew Chamberlain, Glassdoor Chief Economist.

"For employers, we know that a satisfied and engaged workforce helps drive financial performance. Glassdoor Best Places to Work winners are strategically investing in company culture, career growth opportunities and more, which also serves as a major recruiting advantage.”
