Working from home is now more possible than ever. Thankfully, innovative advances in technology and connectivity enable a great deal of work to be done anywhere, anytime.

For women with family responsibilities, balancing work and children can be effective when their paid work is from home.

The iconic singer, Beyonce, once said: "I have so much admiration for women who are mothers, who balance family and work."

Remember, finding work from home jobs takes effort and tenacity.

Designate real time to exploring work from home options

There's a saying that "You will never find time for anything - if you want time, you must make it". So this means actually allocating and designating time to really researching the marketplace for work from home jobs that might closely match your skills, expertise and interests - as well as your remuneration expectations. Looking for, and securing, the right work from home job does take great effort.

The work should be fulfilling

Many people may chase success at work, thinking it will make them happy. The truth, however, it is the happiness at work that can actually help you become successful in what you do. So, any work from home job should ideally be done because you enjoy it, and hopefully not just something that pays the bills or is demoralizing or beneath your competence.

Finding balance is key

Online jobs are work from home jobs

Remember that brilliant quote by singer Dolly Parton? "Never get so busy making a living that you forget to make a life." So true! Life and work are intertwined - and both should be fulfilling, In fact, Oprah Winfrey once said: "I've learned that you can't have everything and do everything at the same time." So balance, and some tough decisions, are key.

Likewise a famous quote from business guru Stephen Covey goes like this: "Most of us spend too much time on what is urgent and not enough time on what is important." Again, some salient food for thought and so very true in terms of striking and forging the right balance between life and work.

Former Yahoo executive, Marissa Mayer, once said: "You can’t have everything you want, but you can have the things that really matter to you. And thinking that way empowers you to work really hard for a really long period of time." Indeed ...

Your dream job might not exist, so you may have to create it

You are the creator of your own destiny. Find an employer who offers work from home jobs and flexibility - or figure how you can pitch in your combination of skills and interests.

Sometimes, finding the right work from home job means drawing on previous contacts and pitching into areas where companies have pain points that you can address. It may even mean combining a number of work from home positions, rather than simply having one job - and enjoying working with different teams on differing projects, at different times.

You might never feel truly satisfied by work until you're satisfied by life

But always remember what Hillary Clinton said: "Don't confuse having a career with having a life."

So keep your career in perspective as you move forward on your journey to hopefully finding the right work from home job as a solution for managing a hectic work life balance.

And remember, no matter how busy you are or how busy you think you are, the work will always be there tomorrow, but your family and friends might not be - so make the most of getting your work-life balance right.
