Diageo Legal Counsel named one of Australia's Rising Stars

Diageo Legal Counsel Elisabeth White was included in the Legal 500 Guide to Australia's Rising Stars. Those included had to meet the criteria of a rising star, which included quick progression at the start of their career, recognition from fellow colleagues or industry press, or having an impact that exemplifies their ability to overcome current issues and be prepared for future ones.

Elisabeth is one of Australia's Rising Stars

As Legal Counsel at Diageo, Elisabeth is responsible for legal matters within the company. She works on commercial outcomes, and takes every opportunity to improve and encourage change at Diageo.

One of Elisabeth's nominators emphasised how she has made a difference at Diageo, such as working with the Australian sales team to attain sustainable growth, collaborating with marketing on "cool in culture" promotion, working on the latest tender for a new manufacturing supplier, and training staff in Diageo's Bundaberg distillery. 

Elisabeth doesn't just focus on the legal issue, but how the issue is part of Diageo’s wider business strategy.  Elisabeth gives legal advice on new products and strategic projects at Diageo and leads constant improvement initiatives across all legal process in Australasia and in Diageo's global legal team.

She communicates well across all areas of Diageo's global business to make sure that all local business needs are fulfilled and stakeholder expectations are effectively clarified, aligned and met.

Elisabeth is celebrated for creating and leading a culture of compliance at Diageo.
