Jackie LaRocca is an IT Management Consultant with Capgemini. She joined Capgemini Invent's Future of Technology capability in 2016 having worked in the gaming industry and is currently leading a global team, as the Innovation Lead for a major FMCG client in the finance transformation space, specialising in emerging technologies such as Blockchain and AI.
Jackie shares the reasons why she loves working for this progressive employer.
Sharing a passion for emerging technology
Jackie says she joined the Capgemini team because she has passion for emerging technology. She explains: "I often attended external events about IoT, Blockchain etc to learn more, and really wanted to join a team that supported my passion. Our clients look to us as consultants to help them problem-solve and also take advantage of emerging technology to gain that edge on the competition."
The most interesting part Jackie's work is the people
"The most interesting part of my work is the people!" says Jackie. "I regularly work with colleagues from all over the world in different parts of Capgemini. In the morning I speak with RPA experts in India and in the afternoon I catch up with our colleagues in Brazil on delivery excellence. I am regularly impressed by the calibre of people within our organisation."
Looking at the future of business and technology
Jackie describes Blockchain as her passion and believes it will play a key part in the future of technology and business transformation.
"Blockchain is my passion, though I think all emerging technologies is the future," she comments. "We help lead our business and our clients to become experts in things like IoT, AI and Blockchain."
Jackie adds: "Blockchain is all around, but businesses are hesitating to use it. Whatever the reason may be, as soon as linked-up use cases...start to appear and their benefits are proven, I expect real business adoption starting and I am sure that the adoption curve will be steep."
