Girl Scouts gain exciting STEM skills with prime employer BD

Ever committed to encouraging the next generation of STEM talent into the workplace, Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) hosted a special event for Girl Scouts where they had the opportunity to gain new and exciting skills.

The Celebrate Girls event offered members of the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey the opportunity to tour medical technology company BD's site, decode their names, have a try at creating some inventions, spray-coat tubes and piece a product together.

The girls enjoyed the event and left with new skills which BD hopes could have inspired them to consider future careers in STEM.

Delighted with the event, the Girl Scouts of Northern New Jersey took to Facebook to say: "Thank you to BD (Becton, Dickinson and Company) for hosting our Celebrate Girls campers at BD STEM Day. The girls loved getting a tour of the building, decoding their own names, inventing something, spray-coating tubes, and assembling a product. You have inspired the next generation of future STEM leaders."
