Prime employer for women, Nottingham Trent University, continues to show its commitment to furthering female talent within the community by partnering with football club, Nottingham Forest Women.
The innovative partnership sees NTU help construct a women’s football programme across the two organisations where female footballers can apply to study at NTU and also represent Nottingham Forest Women at first-team level.
Helping women further their talents and reach their goals
As part of the partnership, Nottingham Forest Women have access to NTU's health and well-being resources including strength and conditioning facilities, pitch-side physiotherapy and sports science support.
This collaboration also offers NTU the opportunity to offer a sports scholarship to players who wish to feature in the women’s first-team squad.
The University took to Twitter to announce the news, proudly stating "We're so excited to be entering a partnership with @NFFCWomen"
Meanwhile, James Hayter, Director of Sport at NTU, comments “We are proud to be entering into a new partnership with Nottingham Forest Women. It will provide great opportunities for our students to continue their studies and perform at an elite level. In addition, NTU is well placed to support workforce development activities in partnership with Nottingham Forest Women, offering excellent opportunities for our students and graduates. We are delighted to be welcoming Nottingham Forest Women to our outstanding facilities on Clifton campus and we’re all excited for the season ahead.”
Nottingham Forest Women General Manager, Lee Billiard, says “To partner with such an outstanding university, based in Nottingham, is a perfect fit for our programme. To have a partnership with NTU that helps elevate what we offer our players from not only an educational standpoint, but also from a health and wellbeing standpoint allows us to have an infrastructure in place that matches our future ambitions of working up through the women’s footballing pyramid."
