In Tennessee USA, education was the focus of a series of activities by Chromalox (part of Spirax-Sarco Engineering) employees. The company donated and packed school supplies for students, spent a day reading with children in support of 'Literacy in Action Day' and organized a Women in Engineering event for 7th Grade students.
Lending a hand at a school

Meanwhile, Spirax-Sarco Engineering's Asia-Pacific management team helped to build a school toilet in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The team’s charity work was part of a Habitat for Humanity International project where volunteers spent two days building the facility to support the school’s young students and make a positive change in the local community.
Collecting food for those in need

In France, groups of four to six employees of Spirax Sarco France invited shoppers in a local supermarket to donate food and further items for people in need. Over two days, more than 100 boxes of donated items were collected. In addition, over the course of a month, employees donated items of clothing for adults and children. All donated items were supplied to people challenged in meeting their basic needs.
Cleaning up the coastline

A group of Spirax Sarco employees in Shanghai, China, put aside work for a day and volunteered in a coastal clean-up project. Along a 500 meter stretch of beach, in less than two hours, the group collected over 90 kilograms of rubbish, most of which was plastic waste. Not only did the event help to improve the local environment, it also inspired employees to think more about their environmental impact, with one participant committing to give up plastic bags in favor of bamboo baskets.
Spreading cheer through presents

Over the festive season, employees at Watson-Marlow Alitea in Sweden (part of Spirax-Sarco Engineering) were busy donating and wrapping presents for people in need. For several years employees in Stockholm have been supporting an organization that gives presents to children and people who otherwise may not receive any.
Building a family home

Can you imagine not having a safe, warm place to live or raise your children? Employees at Spirax Sarco Colombia built a new house for a single mother and her children. Spirax Sarco Colombia said: “Helping this family in need has not only changed their lives for the better but also brought us closer as a team.”
These examples are just a handful of many efforts made by Spirax-Sarco Engineering and the company's subsidiaries to help people and communities all over the globe.
