Dr Stephanie Giamporcaro is an Associate Professor in Responsible and Sustainable Finance at Nottingham Trent University's (NTU) Nottingham Business School.

Her research is rooted in sociology and organization theory and investigates broadly sustainable and innovative finance both in Europe and Africa as core ‘empirical contexts’.

Stephanie's academic work has been published in academic journals such as Journal of Business Ethics Quarterly; Organization Studies and Journal of Business Ethics. In addition she authored award winning case studies dedicated to Sustainable Finance dilemmas in emerging market contexts. She has also published in The Conversation South Africa and UK. 

In a Raconteur article, Stephanie comments on aspects relative to company attention to corporate social responsibility. Stephanie says that while so-called corporate social responsibility contracting is currently a marginal trend, it is one that is developing rapidly across industrialized economies.

The report cites Nottingham Business School research indicating that the number of companies on the UK’s FTSE All-Share Index going down this route doubled to nearly 14 per cent between 2011 and 2019. In France, on the CAC All-Share, the fig- ure is currently more like 18 per cent, while it’s 9 per cent on the US Russell 3000 Index.
