QBE's Lisa Wolfe is named as a Woman of Distinction finalist

 October 07, 2021

Property underwriting manager at QBE Canada Lisa Wolfe has been nominated by Insurance Business Canada Magazine for their Steamatic Canada Award for Woman of Distinction.

Insurance Business Canada Awards celebrates brokers, brokerages, insurers, underwriters, MGAs and risk managers for their significant work and achievements.

Embracing learning opportunities and challenges

Lisa was inspired to join the insurance industry based on its learning opportunities and challenges.

“We are fortunate to work in an industry that offers a career path that points in every direction: finance, marketing, operations, underwriting, claims, business development, risk management,” says Lisa. “It is an industry that offers progression and possibilities, and presents the opportunity to support my analytical skills while combining negotiating capabilities and building and sustaining strong relationships.”

Making a worthwhile contribution through her work

Lisa feels rewarded that her work makes a worthwhile contribution and that it challenges her to push boundaries and it teaches her to embrace her limitations. Lisa says she appreciates that her work affords her the opportunity to empower others by serving as a coach and mentor.

The industry has also nurtured her philanthropic nature, providing opportunities to volunteer with such organizations as the United Way, SickKids, the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, and her local food bank.

Lisa also participates in the Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade, the Ebony Women Insurance Network and the Property Casualty Underwriters Club.
