“Despite the pandemic, civil engineers in our region have been busy working on a wide-range of exciting projects and we are looking forward to receiving entries showcasing many of them,” said Jo Barnett, ICE East & West Midlands Regional Director ahead of the awards ceremony.

The ICE West Midlands Awards is an opportunity to showcase the best civil engineering projects and people across the region. Presented annually, these awards provide an opportunity to celebrate all aspects of civil engineering and are presented to the best civil engineering projects, people and groundbreaking research across Birmingham, the Black Country, Coventry, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Solihull, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.

All types and sizes of project are considered for the ICE West Midlands Awards, from local schemes to multi-million-pound, cross-county infrastructure work. Award categories include the best large, medium and small project, as well as accolades for communication, innovation, heritage, team achievement and a range of people awards.

Civil engineers can also celebrate individual achievements by nominating individuals for the Bob Dunn Award, ICE STEM Ambassador of the Year and ICE Young Achiever of the Year. Academic institutions are encouraged to nominate their technician students for the Technician of the Year Award.
