European Investment Bank Group Vice-President, Teresa Czerwińska, supports the Bank's operations in the Ukraine. As the bank of the European Union, the EIB Group finances sustainable projects that have a positive impact on the lives of EU citizens and communities around the world.
Supporting this agenda, EIB Group supported by the EU Commission, approves €1.59 billion of EU financial assistance for Ukraine.
Investing in the future of Europe

This is the second package of support for Ukraine under the EIB Ukraine solidarity urgent response developed in close cooperation with the European Commission. It follows an emergency support package of €668 million fully disbursed within a month of the war’s beginning.
In addition to EIB President Werner Hoyer's comments about the crucial support provided and urgent funding needs, Teresa explained: “This will provide the necessary funds to cover urgent needs and ensure the operation of critical infrastructure. We continue to keep in regular contact with Ukraine's government to help flexibly as needed. This is a question of investment in the future of Ukraine, the future of Europe and the future of the free world."
“To rebuild Ukraine, we need strong global support and growing financial assistance. I am grateful to the EIB Group and the European Union for the long-standing cooperation and financial support and for standing with Ukraine for as long as it takes,” commented Finance Minister of Ukraine, Serhiy Marchenko.

Teresa's areas of focus include financing of science, education, innovation and the digital economy, InvestEU (implementation, jointly with Vice-President Mourinho Félix who has overall responsibility for the Multi-annual Financial Framework), implementation of three lines of defence (3LoD), financing operations in Croatia, Hungary, Poland, the Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia and Ukraine), Central Asia, China and Mongolia, relations with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB).
