WSP celebrates its employees via an annual awards ceremony

WSP hosted a fabulous evening of celebration for as its employee community came together for the company's annual WSP Awards

The awards saw three talented changemakers, Katie McQuade, Emma Hayward and Susan Leadbetter, celebrated for their achievements.

The ceremony, which took place in the city of Birmingham, UK, welcomed guests and nominees to celebrate the talent and hard work of valued colleagues.

"Great to celebrate our brilliant people and projects at a ceremony in Birmingham to recognize the many achievements. Thank you to our attendees and our panel of judges for attending the WSP Awards," said WSP.

Shining a light on three talented women

WSP awards

Among many impressive award winners, WSP shone a light on the achievements of three talented women making a positive difference to the company, the industry, and the wider community.

Inspiring people through positive leadership

Emma Hayward WSP

WSP's Best Display of Leadership award went to Emma Hayward who shows great leadership in her role every day.

"Thank you for inspiring and motivating our people through positive leadership," said WSP. 


Promoting engineering to the next generation

Best Emerging Talent WSP

Katie McQuade won the Best Emerging Talent award for her outstanding extra-curricular activities, fundraising, and promoting engineering to a younger generation as a STEM Ambassador.

"We can't wait to see what Katie does next!" commented WSP.


Creating change for women's safety

Susan Leadbetter WSP

The final award of the night went to Susan Leadbetter, WSP's Changemaker of the Year.

Susan's research on sexual harassment on public transport led to a campaign with Transport for London (TFL), which helped create positive change for women's safety.

"When sharing my research, women have thanked me for helping to shine a light on this issue, people who never considered gender before are now including it in the forefront of their work, I’ve seen it shared all over social media," said Susan.
