QBE partners with Save the Children for disaster relief

 May 17, 2023

Working for a company that cares about the greater good is not only inspiring, but allows for further job satisfaction.

As part of QBE European Operations Disaster Relief and Resilience Partnership with Save the Children, the QBE EO Foundation provided grant funding to support their work helping Afghan families and children arriving in the UK.

Providing mental health and emotional support

With QBE's support, Save the Children UK has;

  • Provided mental health and emotional support to families and children
  • Supported families to integrate and settle into their life in the UK
  • Trained staff who work with families
  • Given families cash or vouchers, so they can buy food and essential items.

"We are very proud of Save the Children UK's incredible work last year, and we look forward to strengthening our partnership with them in 2023," says QBE.

Working to build resilience and save lives

In 2022, after seeing the devastating impact of the Ukraine crisis, the QBE EO Foundation provided emergency funding to Save The Children UK's appeal.

QBE employees raised a further £7,000 (including matching). With these contributions, the funding has helped Save the Children to assist 802,465 people affected by the crisis, including 436,529 children.

QBE and Save the Children are working with communities to build their resilience and save lives by improving their capacity to prepare, anticipate, respond and recover from disasters.
