The EIB Group understands that it's not always easy to make the decision to move to another country, or even another continent, for a new job. This decision can become even more difficult when it means that a partner and family may also have to pack up, find a new job and a new home, and adjust to a new environment.

This is frequently the case for new employees at the EIB Group. "For this reason, we decided to become a founding member of the International Dual Career Network (IDCN) Luxembourg," explains the Bank.

"IDCN plays an important role in highlighting some of the many career opportunities that Luxembourg has to offer for dual-career partners. IDCN members are open to investigating career possibilities with people whose partners have accepted a job in Luxembourg with another IDCN member," says the EIB.

Professional networking and information sharing

As a supportive organization, IDCN provides a platform for professional networking and information sharing. A variety of events bring local corporate representatives and IDCN partner members together. Corporate members host many insightful events, presentations and workshops on the local employment market and professional networking.

IDCN is a global Non-Profit Association of companies, NGOs, and academic institutions in different locations. At present, IDCN is active in 14 different locations, and IDCN is looking forward to launching many more IDCN locations in various countries across the world to have great local networks.

The association was first launched locally in the Lake Geneva region in 2011 (pilot) by Nestlé, Philip Morris International, Ernst & Young, and the Vaud Chamber of Commerce (CVCI). It expanded globally in 2012, driven by Nestlé, Philip Morris International, EY, L’Oréal, and Cargill. IDCN is now present in 14 different cities and is developing in other locations with many members. 29 global organizations and almost 78 local entities are now part of the IDCN throughout the world.

Support in professional integration in a new country

IDCN aims to offer mobile partners the following benefits:

  • support in professional integration in a new country
  • opportunity to network with human resources professionals, corporate representatives and like-minded partners
  • increased awareness of professional opportunities

Are you a mobile employee’s partner from one of the IDCN Corporate Members?

Then you can join IDCN in its different locations. All partners of mobile employees of Corporate Members are considered IDCN Partners and have the opportunity to access IDCN events.
