Are you a front-end developer that's passionate about network building awesome web pages, and have an interest in information security? Would you like a chance to apply what you have learned on a critical project? F5 Networks is offering the opportunity to join them on a summer internship. Interns at F5 work in collaboration with senior engineers and designers who are eager to share knowledge as you contribute to the team.
In addition to participating in an interesting project, interns will be invited to F5's Seattle, WA headquarters to join in on a 3 day “Boot Camp.” At this event, you will have the opportunity to learn details about F5's most successful products. There will also be plenty of social events, allowing you to get to know leaders throughout the F5 organization and your fellow interns!

Get to know the F5 University
F5 University is an internship program - and so much more. You won’t just learn how our business works; you’ll gain hands-on experience working on real-world projects for a Fortune 1000 company.
Each summer internship begins with an Intern Bootcamp Session. You’ll dive into the life and culture of F5 Networks while getting to know your fellow interns. Bootcamp events include an executive team breakfast, lunch with the CEO or another executive team member, and an evening Argosy Cruise event.
Throughout the summer, you’ll participate in:

lunch and learns: Multiple sessions focused on different speakers/topics

social events: Opportunities to network with peers and coworkers outside the office

ongoing feedback: Manager guidance along with a mid-point and end-of-summer review. You’ll also have a chance to present your summer project and share what you’ve learned at F5

mentorship and buddy: A mentor within your group will help you with your summer project. A designated buddy outside your group will introduce you to other F5ers and serve as an additional resource

These internship positions are designed to provide qualified students an opportunity to learn valuable knowledge in a hands-on manner, as a key player in the F5Labs.com website redesign project, specifically working on integrating automated threat intelligence feeds into visually appealing attacks maps on the web. You’ll collaborate with multiple departments to undertake a challenging project that will provide the opportunity for you to learn about new technologies, develop or enhance your skills, and make significant contributions to F5.
Responsibilities:
- work in conjunction with our F5 Labs threat analysts, back-end developers, consultants and design team to build automated visual attack maps into our web property
- assist building the design spec with the F5 Labs team
- commit code within our development system and work through bugs found in testing until the solution is production ready
Applicants should be/possess:
- a current student enrolled in a technical discipline, preferably Software Development or Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
- approaching their Junior year or beyond at the time of the internship (exceptional Sophomore or Freshmen may be considered)
- available for a 10-12 week internship between June and September of 2018
- experience performing Front End Developer work
- develop in Javascript, AngularJS, React
- an interest in information security and big data, a plus

Balancing work and play with a Seattle summer boot camp
F5 welcomed 100 interns to its Americas internship program. The interns joined the F5 team in Seattle for a three-day boot camp where they learned about F5, met many F5 leaders, and attended some fun team building events.
After a busy week of learning about F5's products and services, the interns headed out on a photo scavenger hunt which took them to downtown Seattle and Pike Street Market.
