Eaton appoints Christine Barman as new Chief Technology Officer

Eaton has appointed Christine Barman as its new Chief Technology Officer for the Industrial Sector. Christine brings with her years of experience in the automotive technology industry.

Joining a capable and diverse team

Christine's role will include leading Eaton’s Industrial Sector technology strategy and giving guidance on engineering and technology improvement initiatives in the Industrial Sector. This includes the Vehicle, eMobility, Aerospace and Hydraulics sectors.

A leading woman in the automotive industry 

Christine has had a long and exciting career in the automotive industry. Prior to joining Eaton, Christine was Vice President of NAFTA Electrical and Electronics Engineering where she led an engineering team that designed and developed electrical parts and systems for new vehicle programs. She was also part of creating new and innovative vehicle technology such as driver assistance, autonomy, infotainment and connectivity. Christine also spent 22 years with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles and was Principal for New Shore LLC, where she advised on emerging technologies and development strategies.

Christine has a Master of Business Administration from the University of Michigan, a Master of Science in mechanical engineering from Oakland University and a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Purdue University. She is on the board of Inforum and the Michigan Science Center and sits on the Purdue University Mechanical Engineering Advisory Council. She has been honored countlessly as a leading woman in the North American automotive industry.
