Women, does the idea of working in a state-of-the-art office space built with the environment in mind sound appealing to you? If so, you might be interested to know that the EBRD is moving its London headquarters to the exciting Canary Wharf district in a few years’ time.
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) - which promotes the development of private sector enterprise across 38 emerging economies in three continents - will relocate its London HQ from Exchange Square in the City of London to Canary Wharf in 2022.
Working in an efficient and sustainable city building

The innovatively designed new building was developed by Canary Wharf Group, and EBRD staff will occupy the top 12 floors of the 24-storey site based at Five Bank Street.
Some 2,500 London-based EBRD staff out of a total of around 3,500 will transfer to the new location which will be one of the most environmentally advanced offices in the UK.
The environmental element of the site sits perfectly in line with the EBRD’s own emphasis on sustainability and resource efficiency.
The Canary Wharf Group’s Chairman and CEO Sir George Iacobescu stated that the building “will be one of the most efficient and sustainable in the UK”.
The EBRD will move to the premises when the lease on its current property in Exchange Square expires. Senior Vice President András Simor signed the new lease and is excited about the move, having been based at the same London site since the early 1990s.
András commented: “We are greatly looking forward to our move to Canary Wharf. Our ambition was to find a world-class location for our staff, enabling us to continue our mission to change lives in the countries where we operate.”
The Bank also shared its excitement on social media, Tweeting: “We’re looking forward to moving to Canary Wharf and into one of the UK’s most environmentally advanced buildings – and meeting our new neighbours.”
