Avon Foundation for Women champions important causes

Avon Foundation for Women champions important causes

 January 13, 2020

The Avon Foundation for Women tackles the causes that matter most to women. Its ethos is based on the belief that, the greater the support, the more empowered women feel to take control of their own safety and health.

A driving force

Avon and the Avon Foundation have contributed over $1 billion USD over the years to the causes that matter most to women. Working in partnership with affiliate Avon Foundations and Avon countries around the world, the Avon Foundation for Women is a driving force behind charitable, scientific, educational and humanitarian work that improves the lives of women and their families.

From raising awareness, to delivering lifesaving resources, the Avon Foundation for Women works on women’s causes through:

  • assembling partners and thought leaders to collaborate and share best practices
  • educating the public and key audiences to change behaviour and improve the lives of women around the world

The Foundation aims to accelerate progress, accountability and discovery, and reduce the social stigma that sometimes keep women's issues hidden.

Four key programmes

Through the Avon Breast Cancer Promise, the Avon Foundation for Women educates women about the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, and ensures they know where to go for help. Through the Avon Promise to Help End Violence Against Women and Girls, the Foundation works towards a world where women and girls are free from the fear of violence or abuse. Through the Global Scholarship Programme, the Foundation awards academic scholarships to beauty entrepreneurs and their families, as part of an ongoing commitment to lifelong learning.
