Prime employer the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has appointed Marina Petrov as their Head of Belarus.
In this important role, based in Minsk, Marina is responsible for the bank’s operations and policy engagement in Belarus. The EBRD has invested almost €2.9 billion in 130 projects in various sectors of Belarus's economy since the start of its operations in the country.
A senior leader with a great track-record
Marina is a Moldovan national and first joined the EBRD back in 1995. She has previously held senior positions in London and in the bank’s countries of operation. She was Head of the St. Petersburg office and most recently served as a Deputy Head of Ukraine, responsible for one of the EBRD’s largest project portfolios and looking after energy and infrastructure sectors.
“I am honoured to continue the great job done by my predecessor and will do my best to develop our business in Belarus further as well as to promote best business practices in the country. I am planning to build on the successes we have achieved in the private and public sectors and to pursue our constructive policy dialogue with the authorities," says Marina.
