This recognizes Diageo’s ongoing commitment to women’s progression into senior roles through practices such as sponsorship, mentoring, sponsorship, employee-resource groups and leadership-development training.

"At Diageo, we are particularly proud to be a champion of gender equality taking proactive steps in order to curb workplace inequality," said Laura Watt, HR Director, Diageo North America. For International Women’s Day, Diageo created a series of videos interviewing women working at Diageo, where they shared their career journeys, their experience of helping to create an inclusive culture, and their advice to others wanting to enact similar change.

Diageo’s pioneering parental leave scheme gives six months' leave to parents regardless of gender or sexual orientation or birth, adoption or foster care.

In addition, the company’s North American Secondment policy supports all employees to develop their skill sets by exploring new and different career opportunities within Diageo.

"The 2020 NAFE Top Companies continue to tell the story of what organizations are doing to move women into executive positions by communicating the value of P&L roles and ensuring equity in executive succession planning," said Subha V. Barry, president, Working Mother Media. "The NAFE Top Companies continue to pave the way for the advancement of women."
