My Schneider Electric journey from Intern to Secure Power member

My Schneider Electric journey from Intern to Secure Power member

 July 30, 2020

Hau Phan started her career at Schneider Electric as an intern. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, she is now a Sales Administration Assistant in the Secure Power division of Schneider Electric Vietnam.

She enjoys traveling, running, yoga, swimming, and riding my bicycle.

Hau shares her career journey, and how the company has, from day one, welcomed her with open arms.

Excited for her future with Schneider Electric

Four months after starting as an intern at Schneider Electric, Hau was offered a full-time position to join the team.

"Although my career at Schneider Electric had just begun, I was excited to see what my future with the company would bring," she says.

Supported in sharpening her skills

Following her internship, she started as a Sales Administration Assistant. Her role is to support the team in bidding projects and resolving some of the most difficult customer issues, which allowed her to learn so much over a short period of time.

Hau soon had the opportunity to join the East Asia & Japan basecamp workshop where she earned how to apply Design Thinking to their “Improving Master Material Creation Project”. The  team found out the root cause, proposed new solutions, and achieved very good results: their delay tickets were reduced from 30% to 15%. In addition, she made many friends throughout the workshop that she has kept in touch with.

Hau has also supported her manager on Schneider Electric's Annual Market Report project where she had to evaluate competitors’ market shares by analysing custom data, market share, and the forecast of Product Available Market (PAM).

"I look forward to finding my niche and building my career in it in the future. For now, I will continue to sharpen my skills with the support of my colleagues," she adds.

Welcomed by an inclusive team

Hau personally believes Schneider Electric's tagline “Great people make Schneider Electric a Great Company” rings true.

"Since I joined the company, I have been warmly welcomed with open arms and felt immediately at home. Everyone here is genuinely kind and supportive, so I am very happy to work with them every day. We go to work and play with a great sense of joy and dedication, and to me, that is a sign of a great company," she explains.

"Since working at Schneider Electric, I still don’t know who I want to be. However, what I know better is what I want to do. Thanks to my VP who led by example and encouraged me to take ownership and responsibility for my work, I have been able to find out more about how I envision my career path."

Hau concludes that her experience with Schneider Electric has been positive. She has learned so much and acquired many skills that will help her to succeed both in her personal life and career – through meeting with new people, getting outside of her comfort zone, or taking part in well-being activities such as yoga, running sessions, or swimming classes with her colleagues.

"I’m very grateful for the opportunities that Schneider has offered me as an intern and now a full-time employee," she adds. "And I can’t wait to explore what’s next for me at Schneider Electric!"
